An approval workflow for AI agents that act on real accounts
In SelfAgentic an agent can write a LinkedIn or Instagram post or propose a Meta Ads change, but by default it cannot publish on its own. In chat it shows you a card to approve. On scheduled runs, in workflows and from Slack, the post waits in your Approvals inbox for 24 hours, and Meta Ads changes are refused outside chat.

How approval works
In chat: an approval card
The agent shows the post or the ad change with Approve and Cancel. Nothing happens until you click, and the card is still there if you reload.
Everywhere else: your Approvals inbox
Posts written on a schedule, by a workflow step or from a Slack message are queued in the Approvals inbox, and you get a notification. Each shows the agent, the text and a field for a note.
Checked again when you approve
Approving runs the stored post through the same permission and content checks, and publishes it at most once. If the platform refuses it, it stays on screen with the reason.
Ad changes stay in chat
Meta Ads changes are made only from web chat, after you approve them. Scheduled runs and Slack can read your results but refuse to change a campaign.
What happens to a post written while you are away
- 1A schedule or a workflow runs, and the agent writes the post.
- 2Instead of publishing, the post is queued in your Approvals inbox and you are notified.
- 3You read it, add a note if you like, and approve or reject it within 24 hours.
- 4On approval it is checked again and published once. If it fails, you see why.
What needs approval
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn posts | Wait for your approval, by default |
| Instagram posts | Wait for your approval, by default |
| Meta Ads changes | Approved in web chat; refused on schedules, in workflows and in Slack |
| Google Sheets, Docs and Drive | No approval, limited to files the app created or you shared |
| Images and videos | In chat, the agent agrees the brief with you before spending a credit |
| Slack replies | No approval: the agent answers where it was asked |
Limits
What this does not do yet, so you know before you rely on it.
- An inbox request expires after 24 hours. After that it cannot be approved, and the agent has to write it again.
- There is no setting yet that lets a trusted agent publish without approval.
- Notifications are in the app, not by email.
Questions about approvals
What happens if I do not respond?
The request expires after 24 hours and nothing is published.
Does a workflow pause until I approve?
No. The workflow finishes and its post waits in your Approvals inbox. It is published when you approve it, as long as you do within 24 hours.
Does editing a Google Doc need approval?
No. Google actions happen straight away, which is why Google access is granted per agent and limited to files the app created or you shared.
