An AI support agent that answers in Slack and summarises the rest
SelfAgentic gives a support or success team an agent that answers questions where they are asked: mention it in a Slack channel or send it a direct message. It builds on what it remembers from earlier conversations and the docs you share, and when a question needs a person it writes a summary in the thread for whoever picks it up.

What the agents do
Answers in the thread
Mention the agent in a channel and it answers in the thread, reading the earlier messages and attached images first.
Remembers earlier conversations
It saves facts and preferences from past conversations to memory, so answers build on what the team already told it.
Answers from your docs
Add your FAQ to its instructions, or share your help docs through Google, and it answers from them rather than from guesswork.
A summary for a person
Tell it in its instructions when a question needs someone on the team. It then says so and writes a summary in the thread, so they start with the history.
What your team ends up with
- Team and customer questions answered where they are asked
- Answers that build on what it remembers from earlier conversations
- Answers drawn from the docs you share with it
- A summary in the thread when a question needs a person
An example run
- Slack message
- Support Agent
- Answer or summary
Set it up
- 1Create an agent from the Support Agent starting point. Edit its instructions so it answers directly (by default it drafts replies for a person), add your FAQ, and say when to hand over.
- 2Optionally connect Google and share your help docs with it through “Share files with agents”.
- 3Connect Slack for the agent: each agent is its own Slack app, created from a manifest.
- 4Invite it to your support channel with /invite. Limiting the channels it answers in also stops it answering direct messages.
What needs your approval
Replies in Slack go out directly; that is the job. If the agent also has LinkedIn or Instagram access, anything it writes for them from Slack waits in your Approvals inbox.
Limits
What this does not cover yet, so you know before you set it up.
- It does not create tickets, assign conversations or page anyone. A person reads the summary in the thread and takes over.
- It answers in Slack only. There is no website chat widget or email inbox, and WhatsApp is not self-serve yet.
- Memory belongs to the agent, not the channel: something learned in one conversation can come up in another. Use separate agents where that matters.
Questions
Can our customers talk to it?
Only inside Slack, in a channel the agent has been invited to. If you share channels with customers through Slack Connect, test that the agent receives messages there before relying on it.
Does it hand off to a human?
If its instructions say when to, it tells the person asking that a teammate needs to step in and writes a summary in the thread. It does not assign or ticket the conversation.
How does it learn our product?
From the FAQ in its instructions, the docs you share, and what it remembers of earlier conversations. You can view and edit its memory.
