AI agents that keep your Google Sheets and Docs up to date
Connect Google Workspace once and grant it to the agents that need it. They can create Sheets and Docs, add rows, rewrite or extend documents, and read the files you choose to share with them. What they make lands in a SelfAgentic folder in your own Drive, one subfolder per project, as Google files you own.

What an agent can do with Google Workspace
Builds and updates Sheets
Create a spreadsheet, overwrite a range, append rows or add a tab. Lead lists, trackers and weekly numbers stay in one place your team already opens.
Writes and edits Docs
Create a document, replace it, append to it or insert text at a chosen point, so briefs, reports and meeting follow-ups land somewhere shareable.
Reads the files you share
Docs, the first tab of a Sheet, the text of Slides, PDFs, Word files and CSVs up to 8 MB, of which it reads about the first 24,000 characters, plus search across the files it can see.
Saves PDFs to Drive
When an agent produces a PDF, such as a tailored CV or a report, a copy is saved to Drive as well as shown in chat.
How to connect Google Workspace
- 1Go to Integrations in your dashboard and connect Google.
- 2Choose which agents may use it. The picker opens as soon as the connection finishes.
- 3To let agents read files you already have, use “Share files with agents” on the Google card and pick them in Google’s file picker.
What needs your approval
Google actions do not wait for approval: an agent with access creates and edits files straight away, in chat and on scheduled runs. That is why access is granted per agent and limited to files SelfAgentic created or you shared, never the rest of your Drive.
Things you can ask it
“Every Friday, add this week’s competitor news to the tracker sheet.”
A scheduled run searches the web and appends one row per item, each with its source link.
“Turn this call transcript into a proposal doc.”
Creates a structured Google Doc in the project’s folder and links it in chat.
“Read the pricing sheet I shared and flag anything inconsistent.”
Reads the file you picked and lists the rows that do not add up.
Limits today
What this integration does not do yet, so you know before you connect it.
- New Sheets and Docs are viewable by anyone with the link unless you ask for them to be private, and saved PDFs always are. Change the sharing in Drive for anything sensitive.
- Access uses Google’s drive.file permission. Agents see only files SelfAgentic created or files you share through the picker; a file you add on drive.google.com stays invisible until you share it that way.
- Agents cannot create Slides presentations. They read only the first tab of a shared spreadsheet, and about the first 24,000 characters of any file.
Questions about Google Workspace
Can an agent see my whole Google Drive?
No. SelfAgentic asks only for Google’s drive.file permission, so agents can open the files the app created and the ones you pick in Google’s file picker. Everything else in your Drive is out of reach.
Who can see the files an agent creates?
They are yours, in a SelfAgentic folder in your Drive. New Sheets and Docs are viewable by anyone with the link unless you ask the agent to keep them private, and PDFs are always link-shared, so you can open them straight from chat. Change the sharing in Drive like any other file.
Why can’t my agent find a file I uploaded to Drive?
Files added directly in Drive are not shared with the app. Open the Google card in Integrations, choose “Share files with agents” and pick the file.
